Your Number 1 Goal is to Graduate!

The author repeats this mantra several times. It's something to keep in mind when times get tough. No matter what, your number one goal during your 2 or 4 years of nursing school is to GRADUATE. Delegate housework. Work part-time or not at all (if possible). Study, study, study!

She does encourage students to get their BSN, not just their ADN, and brought up several good points about that. She gives ideas in finding money for school and has a section from nurses entitled "What I Wish I'd Known Before I Chose to Major in Nursing."

She gives tips on how to be more efficient, organized, be a good student, how to take a test and reduce test anxiety, how to study better, make tbe most out of clinicals, and how to prepare for school.

I loved this book. I actually had checked it out of the library because of the first person's review (didn't want to waste my money if it was a bad book), but now I plan on buying it. This is a great book and has tons if useful information inside. I think this is a must-have for every nursing student.

Awesome guide!

I agree with Sweet girl's review, I just started taking my first classes and this book has helped me to stay motivated and on track. She gives excellent advice and practical tips that I'm already using.
I'm also planning on buying it, so I can read over and over, especially
every time I get side tracked by all the stuff that doesn't matter. I also love the motto Graduating is your goal. My husband just finished grad school and wishes he would have read that book before he started, even though he's field is counseling. I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting pursue nursing. In fact I'm buying it for my cousin who is going to nursing school too. I also read How to survive and maybe even love nursing school, which was really good but reading it, really stressed me out,it focused a lot on the difficulty of nursing school, it had a lot of information and tips as well, but I think Mosby's guide gives more practical to the point advice.

I just started nursing school and it' a good book to know what you're getting yourself into. It's very informative and helpful. No doubt, you'll enter nursing school stressed and anxious, but this book helped me see things a little clearer and understand what its going to take to be successful.

A Good Reference

Overall a pretty nice guide to Pixinsight. The book is very similar to the video series that Warren Keller put out a few years back. Each aspect of processing is explained thoroughly, from image calibration to various methods of pulling in faint details from nonlinear stretched images. I prefer this to the videos as it is easier to reference while I am working in Pixinsight. The Kindle edition is very easy to follow. I prefer using my Android phone to read it as the Kindle Android App presents the book in color and allows you to zoom in on images.

Good book for beginners and the more experienced.

This is an excellent introduction as well as reference. The layout of the book will take a beginner step-by-step through both monochrome and OSC workflows. More experienced users will also find the book valuable as well. In addition to many tips & tricks, the book provides solid background information to explain why PI modules and options work the way they do.

The book is highly approachable and contains numerous screenshots to demonstrate the ideas. It comes with Springer's usual high quality binding and paper. If you are familiar with Mr. Keller, or his other works, you will not be surprised: It's another terrific teaching product from a really terrific guy.

Steep learning curve! But enjoying it thoroughly. Highly Recommended

I bought Pixinsight a little while ago and just got a new triplet and mount for imaging. Needless to say it's been cloudy ever since. This book will be fantastic to get me through to the clear nights I need. Hope to have some skills under my belt by then too! I shall update and post an image or two after I've completed the book and found out exactly how much it has helped me :-)
So after my very first slightly out of focus imaging session I am pretty happy with first light and first complete processing with Pixinsight.
Not enough data acquisition from the Horsehead so hope to gather more this weekend.

Great Idea; Mediocre Execution

Chris Santella`s "Fifty Places to Sail Before You Die" is an interesting but ultimately disappointing book. Although the idea of a collection of unforgettable places to sail is an excellent idea, this book is one of unrealized potential.

The author contacted and interviewed famous sailors from around the world - racers, charterers, instructors, photographers, etc. - for their favorite places to sail. For each great sailing area, he wrote a 3-4 page blurb about the area, and included a small bio of the expert along with some basic information about how to travel to the area, when the best sailing season is, and information about local accommodations and charters.

Unfortunately, Santella does not sell these sailing locales. I expected a book on great sailing areas to include numerous dazzling photographs of each area, but most of the sections include only one picture from the area (some none). Too many of the write-ups focus on the history of sailing an area or other trivia instead of the reasons to sail that area now, and there are no maps to give one a flavor of the area - another must, to me, in a book about sailing locations.

Despite these drawbacks, there is still some interesting information in this book and the sailing locales are a nice sampling of different types of sailing locales. Ultimately, although this book did not give me a burning desire to travel to many of these places, this book is still a worthwhile purchase for anyone with a love of sailing.

Having been to 33 of the 50, I was looking for more reasons why they were chosen as the best places to go. There were very poor descriptions or justifications for the choices. Some totally missed the main attributes of the places chosen. Merely a business description of places chosen.

I PASSED MY RTRP TEST!!!

I read this book from front to back! It had almost everything you need to know to pass the test. I recommend studying the 1040 instructions and pub 17 also!I would recommend this book to anybody that wants to pass the RTRP test. It is better than Exam Matrix that I paid $200 for.

Excellent Guide

I don't write reviews, but I had to on this one. This book has only the pertinent information you need to pass the test. I am an accountant with two years of tax experience (~200 returns to date) and felt like this was an excellent resource. And the price was good too.

I read this book from cover to cover and took brief notes and did all the problems. Then I skimmed back over the chapters and did the problems again, taking notes on what I missed. I also looked halfway through circular 230 but it was a waste. I did all this in three weeks and passed on my first try.

Don't buy the expensive courses if you have a little tax experience. This was enough for me. Good luck!

Wonderful book!

This book is very informative and helpful. It helped me a lot for the preparation for my RTRP test. Those questions and answers in the book really build up a confidence in students and help passing the exam.
